Recently, passing?the strict evaluation by?China International Medical Exchange Foundation and Chinese Medical Association, Lanzhou University Second Hospital officially became the one of first batch of "national laparoscopic surgery training base?for county-level hospital”. ?At present, there are only two hospitals approved in China, and our hospital is the only one approved in Gansu province.?In the future, relying?on?expert?and?technical resource advantages?of Lanzhou University Second Hospital, through the "laparoscopic surgery training platform,?doctors of county-level hospitals can improve their laparoscopic surgery technical ability, which also helps to cover the shortage of local medical system. It’s conducive to construction of medical treatment of primary hospitals and implementation of hierarchical medical system?that common diseases can be treated in county-level hospitals and serious diseases can be treated in hospitals within the province. The policy aims at meeting the health needs of county citizens, keeping 90% of patients treated in primary hospitals and relieving the pressure of big hospitals.

Laparoscopic surgery, as an emerging?minimally invasive surgery, with features of small surgical trauma, rapid recovery, short hospital stay and light?postoperative pain, are very popular with patients and?has been widely applied in the surgical fields, such as general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, etc.

With the continuous popularization of laparoscopic technology, it is urgent to set up?"laparoscopic surgery training base" to regularly train clinical surgeons of county-level hospitals?and provide?a platform for doctors in county-level hospitals to learn, exchange?and improve surgical skills.
